I'll throw more of the Placque photos in the relevant area later but thought these deserve a separate look...

Dario, who'd organised the run told us we had a 'surprise' when we got to Jurien ... a small beach-side crayfishing village about 230 kms north of Perth. (on the way to Dongara)

Well surprise, surprise, surprise...!! Ian Boyd had opened up his mostly Vincent personal collection for us to have a browse around.
Around 70 bikes with every Vincent model from '32 to the late '50's. BSA Rockets 3, Benelli Sei, Aerials, race Nortons from the IOM TT winners, 9 sec '57 Vincent drag bike, speedway bikes, 1 off Egli framed Vincent engines and even a "brand new" 1200 being built that's in the middle of his kitchen bench !!!.

The mans a walking Vincent/HRD encyclopedia and a great guy to open up and spend time with us all drooling over the collection.. as well as the 4.2, manual E-type, the Jag 420G and the Offenhauser Speedway car. There's also drone engines from the 50's which are a flat 3, with 6 pistons and a 2 stroke..!! All for 17 h.p.

ALL of the bikes run and are kept in fully working order as Ian also has riders that he has to race them in events like the Collie and the York Historics meet.
I've seen the occaisional 2 or 3 Vincents at the classic shows but there's around 50 here.... awesome..!! Thanks Ian.

As for the rest of the trip... we found Ducati Diavels throw up a lot more gravel & stones than other bikes so they got sent to the back...especially after punching a hole in the Kwacker 1300's rad..!! ... but the universal balance was performed when one of the Duke's riders lost his 'fob' and although he could start it with a pin code couldn't open the tank to re-fill. Ride home in the ute for the Duke but the Kwacker was fixed with some new liquid metal cyanoacrylate even though you could put your finger through the rad core...impressive..!!

Colin Chapman once said: "If you add horsepower you'll be quick on the straight,...but if you remove weight you'll be quicker everywhere.." ....so why in hell did I buy a Thunderbird...!!!
